How many times have you seen a Dahlia and were not sure of its
name? This section is designed to help you test your
knowledge as well as to assist you in the
learning of their names. The blooms are divided into three sections per ADS standard.
For the fully double blooms of Formal Decorative (FD),
Informal Decorative (ID), Cactus (C), Semi-Cactus (SC) Incurved Cactus (IC),
Laciniated Cactus (LC), there are two groups of sizes:
Fully Double Large
Bloom (B size or
larger) -- AA, A, B
Fully Double Small Bloom (BB size or smaller) -- BB,
Miniature (M), plus -- Ball (B), Mini Ball (MB), Pompon (P),
And, for the other forms they are classified under:
Disc Center Bloom --Waterlily
(WL), Anemone (A), Peony (P), Collarette (CO), Single
(S), Mignon
Single (MS), Orchid (O), Novelty (N).
Under each section you will find a variety of the blooms.
More will be added as time goes on. For each bloom, its size and form
are labeled.
